Dry ice blasting

Carbon-dioxide in the form of dry ice pellets is used as the blasting media for this cleaning process. It's an alternative to traditional cleaning processes and is efficiently implemented by Harper Industrial Cleaning Services on your factory equipment as per the requirement.

Considered the cleaning system of the future

Dry ice blasting is a completely dry process the pellets consist of CO2 and vaporise immediately on contact with the surface to be cleaned. Company’s production equipment can often be cleaned while in operation meaning reduced downtime periods. The dry ice blasting process is completely non-toxic and non-abrasive, allowing us to clean the more delicate items such as oak beams. The combination of extremely high cleaning speeds and a wide range of nozzles mean that the more inaccessible items can be cleaned rapidly.

The Advantages of dry ice blasting

No preparation required
No pre solution or chemical treatment is required prior to dry ice blasting. The Dry ice process is sufficient enough to clean stubborn areas.

Non toxic & Environmentally Friendly
No toxic or environmentally harmful chemicals or solvents are used in dry ice blasting. No toxic or harmful vapours are therefore released reducing the risk to employees from using hazardous substances that are harmful to health.

Easy Disposal
No spray agent is left over in dry ice blasting. Any dirt or debris removed using the dry ice cleaning process can be easily swept up and disposed of.

Non-abrasive
Dry ice sublimates completely to CO2 leaving behind no residues such as abrasives or waste water.

Minimal Machine Downtime
Machines do not need to be disassembled prior to cleaning. The pellets reach into the smallest nooks and crannies. Reducing the need for machine downtime during cleaning

Improves Machine Functionality
Components and production lines can be cleaned efficiently resulting in higher functionality and production.

What is dry ice blasting?

Dry ice blasting is a revolutionary blasting method that uses dry ice pellets (C02 in solid form) as the blasting media.
Dry ice pellets are filled into the tank and are dosed into the compressed air jet. The pellets are propelled by the airflow through a blasting hose and to to the blasting gun. Compressed air propels the dry ice pellets to a velocity of over 150 m/s. The cold temperature of -79 degrees freezes dirt and causes it to crack. During the cleaning process the dry ice pellets are ejected at such a high speed that dirt is removed with ease.

Dry Ice Blasting is an effective cleaning and surface removal tool compared to other conventional chemical cleaning methods. H.I.CS is able to provide a dry ice blasting service that will reduce the time your machines are offline.  Start decreasing your downtime today and ensure your machines are back online and working efficiently.
